Most feature a drop-down front panel door, allowing access to the interior, which usually contains two or sometimes three pull-out racks; racks can also be called "baskets". The inside of a dishwasher is either stainless steel or plastic or plastic coated metal. Often comes with hard food disposal units, which behave like miniature waste disposal units that eliminate large pieces of food waste.

There are three types of dishwashers:

Built-In Dishwashers

Built-in dishwashers are permanently installed into your kitchen under countertop, which means that when you move, it usually doesn’t move with you.

Drawer Dishwashers

Drawer dishwasher is dishwasher in which the baskets slide out with the door in the same manner as a drawer filing cabinet, with each drawer in a double-drawer model being able to operate independently of the other.

Portable Dishwashers

Portable dishwasher also called freestanding dishwasher allows you to have extra storage space because you don’t have to store it under you counter.
 
Feature Options

Most new dishwashers feature microprocessor-controlled, sensor-assisted wash cycles that adjust the wash duration to the quantity of dirty dishes or the amount of dirt in the rinse water. This can save water and energy if the user runs a partial load. Some will have buit-in front or top control, there are also quiet dishwashers, dishwashers with third rack and the ones with hard food disposer.
